As we all know, the diaphragm coupling is composed of several sets of internal diaphragms through the staggered fixing of the middle bolts to connect and combine the two half-couplings. This type of coupling has a tight structure, a strong fit, and a long service life. Under normal circumstances, there are few failures in use. If we want to say that the problem of a slightly higher frequency of diaphragm couplings during use should be the problem of diaphragm fracture. Next, I will introduce several reasons for the rupture of the diaphragm of the diaphragm coupling.

1. When the four sides of the diaphragm coupling bear evenly distributed tension, the diaphragm will not break but can continue to work in a stable state. However, if the distribution of the tensile force it receives is uneven, it will cause uneven force on the diaphragm during the stretching process, and eventually the diaphragm will be broken.

2. When the center of the diaphragm coupling is not aligned, the slight deviation will not have a great impact on the normal use of the coupling; but if the distance from the center exceeds the bearing range of the coupling itself, the running Peak torque is produced in the process. The generation of peak torque results in a doubling of the tensile force on the tensioned diaphragm and an unstable pressure on the compressed diaphragm. If the diaphragm works for a long time under the condition of uneven tension and pressure, it is easy to cause part of the diaphragm to break. As some diaphragms break first, the remaining intact diaphragms cannot withstand the uneven tension at this time, and eventually the entire set of diaphragms inside will break.

3. The fatigue fracture of the diaphragm is also one of the main reasons for the fracture. During the use of the diaphragm coupling, its specific force situation is extremely complicated. For example, the centrifugal force caused by the rotation of the bolt and the film, the bending stress caused by the radial and angular offset of the film, the bending stress caused by the axis deflection, and the stack stress caused by the torque, etc. With each revolution of the coupling, these forces are repeatedly applied to the internal diaphragm. If the shaft speed is too high, the diaphragm will fatigue and fracture over time.

The above are the three common reasons for the diaphragm fracture of the diaphragm coupling. In fact, the root cause of the diaphragm fracture is the stress on its surface. Try to make the diaphragm subject to uniform tension or pressure within the tolerance range. , in order to avoid the rupture of the diaphragm as much as possible. In the process of actually installing and using the diaphragm coupling, we also need to conduct timely detection and troubleshooting based on experience.
